This isn’t an ‘outfit post’ as such, I’m not suggesting dressing up as a doll/child is the way forward. My friend had a ‘D’ themed house party on Saturday night and after dismissing suggestions of Daisy Duke or Dita Von Tease, I decided to go for the more cutsie, doll. The transformation from a verging mid 20 to a five year old was little scary but as someone pointed out, the overuse of makeup brought me back up to age.
In case anyone does like the outfit, the dress is from Topshop, bloomers from H&M, bow from American Apparel and my shoes are from Urban Outfitters.
As you can see from the last photo things got a little messy as the night went on. Red wine, all down my dress!! If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this out, please help?! Someone suggested milk? I was thinking more like dry cleaners?
The gorgeous Katie from Tattyboots tagged me in a bloggers award, the other day and I think this is now my fourth! Very, very grateful so thank you to everyone who has given me one along the way. I won’t bore you with any facts about me, but here are a few of my favourite blogs, that I would pass this onto;
Tattyboots, Slightly Oblivious to the Oblivious, Princess and the Pea, Skulls and Crosses, ellieand, Claire Jessica Tighe, Haute Fly, Lightning Factory, Grunge and Glam and Then She''ll Carelessly Cut You.
I have probably missed out a lot of my favourites but these were the first that sprung to mind.
Also, my little giveaway has ended and I am pleased to announce that the lovely Laura from Romance is Boring is the winner. Thank you to everyone else who entered.
Good luck trying to get the red wine out! What a good idea for 'D' theme :) xx
ReplyDeletei heard once that salt and sparking water should help, but i've never tried it..

Awh you look adorable! your hair is looking lovely too, I remember you mentioning ages ago and not being sure about your fringe but I'm glad you stuck with it because it suits you great! That theme is brilliant too! The dress would actually be nice during summer with a belt wrapped round it I reckon! Thanks for the kind words :), it was my pleasure!!
ReplyDeleteUrmm, does white wine remove red wine? That's the only thing I know ha! Put a bit of DAZ on that bad boy!! xxx
I'm so in love with the dress and those lacy shorts, it look so cute! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the look, I have those lace shorts in black and they look great under dresses don't they? I'd suggest salt to put on red wine, though it does get a little messy, or Vanish? and dry cleaners as last attempt! xx
ReplyDeleteLove themed parties, you look adorable!!

that first picture is gorgeous, and thankyou for the tag!
ReplyDeletelike katie, i'd heard about white wine.. I know at the dry cleaners they have to use a harsh chemical that may ruin your dress, smudge the colours and that, so deffs try other methods before that.

I love the look actually and love the stockings even more!!
ReplyDeleteRed wine stains.. if this ever happens again .. then you chuck some white wine over the red!! it works a treat!
You had fun, that's the main thing!
Joanne xx
Yeah I've heard white wine works too but that might only be the case if it's still wet. Love the doll look :) x
ReplyDeletehaha babe you look awesome i love it. so cute.
ReplyDeletecant believe you spilt all of that red red wine down yourself...what are you like.

ReplyDeleteI love the fancy dress! haha, i'll have to bear doll in mind for the next one i'm invited to- i can never think of things!
And i once tried to get red wine out of carpet with white wine. Then when that didn't work vinegar. Don't make my mistakes :P x
i love this outfit! it's so cute! which i guess is exactly what you were going for being a doll and all. i hope you've managed to get the red wine out by now! let me know how if you did, i think that tip might come in very useful. i'm surprised i've not had such an accident myself yet! x
ReplyDeleteThe bow is so cuteeee! Great pick for the party theme! I'm not sure what to do about the red whine... but I can tell you I've been there haha. I just ended up throwing the top out :(
