Animal

Ha, I know I hardly resemble an animal today but it's a Friday and my mind is locked on getting out of the office so I have no other title to offer.

My boy is going home this weekend so I thought...perfect opportunity to get the animal print out! He hates it, as quite a few men do, I think. The problem is, I love animal print and own so many printed items. I once read an article where two writers were debating on the topic of dressing for yourself or dressing for a partner. The overall outcome of the debate was that you can still dress for yourself, by wearing the items only you love, while doing things on your own, or with friends. I agree with this statement. I don’t want to give up the prints but at the same time wouldn’t want to don myself in full print around my boy, knowing that he doesn’t like it. I don’t think this is me being a ‘stupid girl!’

The weather in London has turned back to grey skies with a chill in the air so I have my trusty tights for the day and plan to whip them off at five. I’m heading up to my friends to plan our summer holiday tonight then out for drinks. I love work to night outfits, so much less hassle than getting changed in the office toilets. YUCK!

So, you may have read from my last posts that the shopping ban starts today!! I’m doing good. 10 hours in and I haven’t bought anything, checked ASOS or lusted after that perfect summer dress. I feel good. My gorgeous TWIGGS is joining me on the challenge. I’m glad to have someone to share the tough moments with and I’m sure she will help keep me on track. Although I have to admit she is such a bad influence on me, check out her blog here and get inspired to spend! She has impeccable taste. Her recent post had me in stitches!!

  1. I've seen enough of "my boy"s terrible cardigans to feel confident enough to advise you that you should not be influenced by him in any way when it comes to how you dress.

  2. I must be the worst girlfriend ever, my bf hates 80% of my wardrobe but I still wear stuff he hates around him haha.
Love animal print, looks so great on you esp with your gorgeous tanned legs!
ps-shopping bans suck. I'm on one to atm partly because I was getting too close to the no return point in my overdraft :*(
Good luck in keeping it up! :)

  4. Ha, well done on staying strong for 12 hours. Even though I try not to wear too many crazy prints or 'weird' clothes around boys, seems to scare them easily. I figure what the hell may as well wear what I want if they don't like something they don't have to wear it! x

  7. My boyfriend tends to like most of my clothes so I don't have this problem...well, when I say like I mean he's indifferent. Maybe it's because I'm quite safe (i.e. boring!). Love that skirt x

  11. my boyfriend hates animal print too! He also hates leather skirts - this has actually stopped me form buying one (have no idea why?!?) I dress for myself & my boyfriend though, there are certain things he doesn't like so I wear them when I'm with my friends :) xoxoxox But i love that skirt btw, the whole outfit is lovely!

  12. I'm usually not a big fan of the animal prints, but the zebra print here looks really soft (maybe because a zebra is so cute haha)

  14. I understand where you're coming from with the dressing for the boyfriend thing as well as yourself, I don't have a man in my life (apart from my dog... forever alone) but if I did I wouldn't want them to feel uncomfortable if I was wearing something outrages or something they hated! You look really lovely by the way, the leopard print doesn't seem bold, its just right! Glad the spending ban is going well! ASOS is seriously dangerous to the bank balance...

By the way I've tagged you for a blog award to list 10 facts about yourself. The rules are on my blog! :)
