Creature of Habit

Dress - Topshop
Bag - Vintage
Boots - ASOS

Just a quick snap today, to show you my favourite work outfit, at the moment. As you all probably know, I am lucky enough not to have the strictest dress code and a few people even commented on how smart this outfit looks– lucky me! I bought this dress in Topshop a while ago and cut off the sleeves, as all the cream lace was a little too much for me. It’s one of those items that can’t dry quick enough after a wash, I’ve even been tempted to wear it while the collar is still damp. My conclusion is that you need two of your favourite things.

Yesterday I had such a lovely day. Being the creature of habit that I am I woke up early and took the bus into town just to get a Starbucks coffee for breakfast. I have one every day so this seemed logical to me. However, my flatmates found this ridiculous and chanted some abuse at me when I got home. I then dragged Danny to Waggamama’s so that I could eat Japanese (something I again have every day.) After that we went to watch Tree of Life. Has anyone else seen it? I did really enjoy the story, both the cinematography and acting were beautiful but I came out drawing a bit of a blank! I think it was perhaps a little too much for me, too many things were kind of put in front of you and left for you to conclude. Don’t get me wrong I love films that get you thinking but I’m still a bit in awe of it all this morning. On a more superficial level, I wore an outfit that I really liked – too lazy to take photos yesterday but I will try to take some this week to put on here. I feel as though I have been buying a lot recently (even though I am not meant to be!!) Must try to make some time to take outfit photos soon.

This week I will mainly be making trips to the post office to send all my ebay items, shopping for little extras to complete my outfit for the wedding at the weekend, having my hair highlighted, meeting my friends for dinner then going to Scotland and seeing my dad (fave person ever)!! Exciting!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

  8. You look so pretty! I like the idea of cutting off the sleeves because sometimes lace sleeves put me off too, although I think some look wonderful I find some can be a bit too 'shakespeare' looking, with puffballed cuffs and stuff!

Glad you had a nice time and I haven't seen tree of life, I never go to cinemas really, I still need to see the hangover 2! xxx

  16. Oooh I love that dress! I hate it when things don't dry fast enough though, and I'm too a creature of habit. Every trip to Leeds pretty much ends in Starbucks, vintage stores, Starbucks, home haha :) x
